Happy Homemaker Monday

It’s been a while since I took part in this meme.  But seeing that school has started and that there will now be some order in the house I’ve decided to rejoin.

Thanks goes to Sandra, the birthday girl for today for hosting this.  To play along head on over to her blog, which is great by the way.

So although my Monday is coming to an end, I know it’s just starting for some of you across the globe.

HHM

The weather in my neck of the woods:
It was hot and humid today.  Like most days here actually. I can handle hot but not humid!

One of my simple pleasures:
Time spent with my husband after the kids have all gone to bed.  I look forward to this time together.

On my bedside table:
My Bible and The 15-Minute Organizer by Emilie Barnes. (Emilie Barnes you are my hero right now!)

On my TV:
TV is off for the night.

On the menu for tonight:
I made Chicken Cordon Bleu

On my To Do List:(for today my done list)
* Contacted movers – requested quote.

* phoned girls piano teacher- schedule lessons.

* Returned all forms to school for emergency contacts etc.

* Did weight training for 1hr./and interval running on treadmill for 30mins.

New Recipe I tried last week:
Slow Cooker Salsa Chicken

In the craft basket:
no time for crafting yet.  Busy sorting/purging etc.  Getting ready to move.

Looking forward to:
moving to a new house in 2 weeks.

Homemaking Tip for this week:
don’t have any right now, although I’ve been reading a lot lately but can’t think of any. (it’s getting late for me!)

Favorite Blog Post of the week (mine or other):
Just have not had the time to sit down and read other blogs.

Favorite photo from last week:

Lesson learned the past few days:                                     As a mother I sometimes  get so hung up about who my children will have as their teachers.  I often hear things like if you can ask for this teacher, their good or try to avoid this teacher, I heard such and such.  Last week as I waited for my 5th grader to find out who her teacher was I realized that all the teachers at her school are good.  If they were not, they would not be here.  I also realized that I should also trust that the school counselors have matched my daughter’s learning style with the best teacher for her. (not me!!)

On my Prayer List:

A new school year.

the girls new teachers and teachers aids.

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses

God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble" (James 4:6 NIV).

My food for thought – whose heart do I have King David’s or King Sauls.  Both great Kings but with 2 very different heart attitude towards God.

Happy Week Everyone.

Great advice about the teacher thing...I need to keep that in mind when my daughter starts school in a couple weeks. Thanks for the reminder that they would not be there if they couldn't teach and were not any good. Maybe I'll relax this year.
