Our Long Weekend

With respect we joined the nation of Thailand and wished the King a Happy Birthday.  He is the longest reigning Monarch and on the weekend he turned 82.  Here is a link to some photo’s that you might enjoy.  From the pictures you can feel the mood of love and respect for the King.

The rest of our weekend was soccer games, putting the rest of our Christmas lights up (actually we just watched Daddy do what he likes to do), and then it was off to the beach and of course lots of food.

DSCF0484DSCF0482This was lunch at the beach.  Sweet sticky rice with beans cooked in bamboo.  It’s so good.  And of course we had our rice with fried pork and larb moo(spicy pork salad)  and som tum (spicy papaya salad).  Our usual favorites.

We also saw beauty in the sunset near homeDSC08957DSC08960and also enjoyed more Thai food with a little bit of Indian food at the food loft nearby.

I hope you all had a great weekend too.

And now it’s back to the craziness of the week as the school gets ready for Christmas break.

Now that's my kind of Christmas tree. I can't wait to see it all lite up :) I loved the photos of the King's birthday. And the photos of the kids are just great. They all are really. Thanks for sharing this wonderful post :)

Beautiful beach pictures! I like the idea of wearing shorts to put up Christmas lights. Around here, we dig through snow to put them up!

I love the idea of Christmas lights around a coconut tree! The rice coocked in bamboo looks very interesting: is it sugared (or is the bamboo sweet)?
