With respect we joined the nation of Thailand and wished the King a Happy Birthday. He is the longest reigning Monarch and on the weekend he turned 82. Here is a link to some photo’s that you might enjoy. From the pictures you can feel the mood of love and respect for the King.
The rest of our weekend was soccer games, putting the rest of our Christmas lights up (actually we just watched Daddy do what he likes to do), and then it was off to the beach and of course lots of food.
Both Tanysha and Renee with their teams. Tanysha won while Renee’s team did not. My dear husband busy wrapping the lights around the coconut tree. (I will share pictures of the lights turned on later)
Joshua and Renee enjoying the sand. We were not the only ones who were taking advantage of the long weekend. The beach was jam packed. But we still had fun. This was lunch at the beach. Sweet sticky rice with beans cooked in bamboo. It’s so good. And of course we had our rice with fried pork and larb moo(spicy pork salad) and som tum (spicy papaya salad). Our usual favorites.
We also saw beauty in the sunset near homeand also enjoyed more Thai food with a little bit of Indian food at the food loft nearby.
I hope you all had a great weekend too.
And now it’s back to the craziness of the week as the school gets ready for Christmas break.

Now that's my kind of Christmas tree. I can't wait to see it all lite up :) I loved the photos of the King's birthday. And the photos of the kids are just great. They all are really. Thanks for sharing this wonderful post :)
Beautiful beach pictures! I like the idea of wearing shorts to put up Christmas lights. Around here, we dig through snow to put them up!
I love the food photos. Thank you for posting!
so many yummy things there, and i cannot wait to see your coco-christmas tree. very exciting.
p.s. will send you a little something about the fabric jewelry if you like. since it is the present for the girl friend's in my daughter's life, i won't blog about it till after she gives her gifts.
I love the idea of Christmas lights around a coconut tree! The rice coocked in bamboo looks very interesting: is it sugared (or is the bamboo sweet)?
