Friday’s Fave Five # 14

springtime FF5

I love Fridays.  Because it is the end of the week.  And I’m so glad for today.  It has been one crazy week.  In between last days of school and organizing class parties, getting gifts of appreciation for the girls teachers, final doctors appointments for my Dad before he goes home (actually Mum and Dad flew home yesterday), this has definitely been one of those weeks.

But in the midst of it all there is are things to be  thankful for.  A lot of things.   But playing by the rules here five things that made my week.

1.  1 More Game away.  Okay I think you know what I’m talking about.  Oh yeah it’s the NBA finals .  LA won this morning (Thursday night in the US) and now we only need 1 more to win it all.la_lakers

2.   Hearing Dad’s oncologist say, He is fit to fly.  Yes Dad has completed his chemo and has now gone back home to PNG.  What was initially planned as a 3 month visit turned into 7 month stay.  The past 7 months presented us with so many challenges, not just from the chemo but emotionally and mentally as well.  I’m  thankful though that my Dad is a survivor and that God has truly shown his goodness to my family.

3.  End of another school year.  Both girls have finished school for another year and it is time for a break. Truth is I need a break too!! I’m so proud of them.  Renee just finished 4th grade and what we expect from her is totally different to Tanysha who just completed pre-K.   But both daddy and mummy are very proud of them both.

4. This picture. Because we were watching “So You Think You Can Dance” (Susanne I’m loving this season too). And I think Joshua’s face say’s it all – “What was that move?”  I remember it was one of the auditions.

5.   Taking my sister in law around Thailand.  It was great to have her here.  She has gone back home but we had such a good time just being together. We were able to take her to Ayutthaya and convince her to ride on the elephants.

I know I’m a day late but I had to get this week in.  For more Fave Five’s head on over to Susanne’s @ Living To Tell The Story.

Great Weekend everyone.

I'm so happy for your Dad. That is great news. Today might just be the day for the Lakers :) For another big supporter of the Lakers and SYTYCD visit

Travis at Trav's Thoughts

He gives such great views of So You Think You Can Dance. I never watched that show until this year. I can't stand Mary. But the talent is so good. Your kids are so beautiful. I can see why you are so proud of them. And little Joshua...priceless.

Excellent my friend Aloha :)

Hey Thom,
thanks for the kind words about my kids.
I'm of a different view - I love Mary. Especially after her honesty about the botox!!! I think she makes the judges interesting.
I will check out Travis' Thoughts.

So glad you're Dad is feeling better. Praying that he continues to get better each day!

I didn't know you get SYTYCD way over there! It is turning into a good season isn't it?

Enjoy your summer break with your children! I'll bet they are glad to be off school too for a bit.
