Happy Homemaker Monday - #7

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter Monday.  My day has come to an end but I wanted to share.  So here’s my Homemaker Monday.

On My Bedside Table:

My Bible.

On My TV:

Actually not watching anything but my girls were watching Shrek 2.

On the Menu for tonight:

We had BBQ Sausages..

On My To Do list:

Nothing. My kids have this week off school so we are just going to do some fun stuff. Swim, paint, and play.

New Recipe I Tried Last Week:

I had a busy week last week so I really didn’t get to try anything. I hope to though this week with my girls. Something fun – hopefully.

In the craft Basket:

To make myself a Hawaiian style hula skirt. Tanysha’s school has International Day coming up and I will be doing a Papuan New Guinean Booth. I plan on showcasing some of the music, instruments and dances from PNG.

Looking Forward to:

Having my husband home today and tomorrow. It’s Thai New Year  so their office is closed.

Dad getting back on track with his chemo treatments. We had a little hiccup last week which put a delay in his schedule so it will be good to start up again.

The NBA Playoff. Thanks LA Lakers for extending my season. GO LAKERS!!

Oh nearly forgot – I am also looking forward to my birthday!

Homemaking Tip for this week:

With a 10 month old that wants to explore all the time I must baby proof my home constantly.

Favorite Blog post of the Week: (mine of other):

Haven’t been able to read other blogs this past week.  I’m sure there are many great posts out there.

Favorite photo from last week:

Lessons learned the past few days:

I’m still meditating on my lesson from last week and trying to purposefully read my bible first before I pick up other good reads.

I love to read and so often I pick up books that I really enjoy reading about God through other people’s lives and experiences and what they have learnt about God, or what God did in their lives. It’s great and it’s wonderful to learn from others but I’m learning that I cannot experience God fully through someone else’s experiences. I need to seek God for myself and experience Him the way He wants me too. And this can only really be done by reading the Bible – myself. Getting lost in it and asking God to show me what he means. I need to read the Bible as often as I can.

On My Prayer List:

Brenda in Paraguay

Dad to totally recover from his mild stroke & Mum to be patient and loving as she takes care of Dad.

My children and Husband.

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verse:

John 20:16

Jesus said to her, "Mary."
She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, "Rabboni!" (which means Teacher).

Last week as I read through the accounts of Jesus’ arrest, death and resurrection so many scriptures that I have read many times before seemed to grab my attention again and speak new things to me. The bible verse above was especially special to me.  It not only warmed my heart but it challenged me.  That although Mary did not recognize Christ she knew his voice.  The moment she heard him call her name, she knew who He was.  How beautiful is that?

Thanks Sandra for hosting this.  Want to check out more head on over to Diary of a SAHM.

Have a great week everyone!
