Corner View – Favorite Dish.

Welcome to Corner View.  This week’s theme is from Joyce and it’s a Favorite Dish.

I’ve now been living in Thailand for over 2 years and without a doubt my favorite dishes would have to be Thai dishes.  Oh yes, I love Thai Cuisine.  The harmonious blend of the spicy, the subtle and the sweet and sour.  I love it.

I’ve learnt that eating Thai food is a communal affair with either 2 or more people.  I’ve watched my Thai friends order several dishes and in addition order their own individual plates of steamed rice.  When the dishes come everyone then chooses what they want and adds it to their plate of rice.  It’s great.

Anyway I know you’ve seen my pictures of the bowls of soup that I love, but here are some other photo’s of Thai Food. ( I always forget to take pictures before I enjoy my food – sorry).

IMG_0498Som Tum – Papaya Salad.

IMG_0497 Moo ping (pork kebabs).  These go well with Sticky rice.

IMG_0480I can’t recall the Thai name for this dish but this is “sweet yellow mango with crushed coconut”.

Well I’m in overdrive here trying to learn as many Thai dishes as I can.  I confess that I’m not too crazy about cooking but I figure that it would be such a wasted opportunity not to learn how to make some authentic Thai dishes.

For more Favorite dishes make sure to visit other CV bloggers.  Updated list on Jane’s Sidebar.

Lovely to have you back Jane.

These look fabulous! I've tried many, many ethnic foods, but for some reason never had had Thai. I think it's because, although I enjoy spicy food in moderation, all I ever hear about it is how crazy hot it is! These photos make me want to try anyway. :o)
