Corner View – Typical Souvenir from Thailand.

Welcome to Corner View for this week.

Thanks again to Jane for such an awesome idea.  Really – this is such a cool way to travel the world.

So this weeks theme is:  “A Typical Souvenir” from your corner, inspired by Epe

This was difficult.  So very difficult because Thailand is such a Tourist destination and well there is just so much offered as “typical” souvenirs.

Although I live here as an expat I consider myself  a tourist.  I get all wide eyed and excited when I visit the craft markets, or the side streets and all those touristy places that tourists head too.

I have many pictures of beautiful stuff one would buy as souvenirs but I have only chosen  those as “typical”.

Things that when you see them will be evidence that you’ve been to Thailand.

Bencharong – Five colored porcelain.  These come in many different sizes and colors.

monks in brown

Monks (although I think these are specific to Burma- the color).  They crossed the border!

DSC08146  Buddha's palm and hanuman masks

DSC08147 a reclining Buddha

DSC08149And even more Buddha’s and Monks. Different styles and poses.

So there you have it.  A few typical souvenirs from the Land of Smiles.

Happy travelling as you visit other Corner View bloggers.  Updated list of links is at Jane’s sidebar.

dear kari i'm in love with buddhas and monks (but haven't anyones at home)....and it's funny i just thought about travelling to thailand in february. during wintertime it's so cold and grey here in switzerland. and i'm looking for sun, and a children friendly place, and a beach...the only problem is, that the flight costs a lot..difficult. i've to think about it. would be wonderful to travel to your country. happy day to you*
