#3 - Happy Homemaker Monday.

It’s Monday and it’s that time of the week!

On My Bedside Table:

My Bible ( I need a new one, the small print on this one is getting difficult to follow.  Any suggestions)

On My TV:

nothing – it’s off.

On the Menu for tonight:

Chicken Soup with bread rolls.  We are one less at home so not to many mouths to feed.  My girls are small eaters.

On My To Do list:

grocery shopping ( i don’t enjoy this at all – but I did it this morning)

Go through papers and clear out our clutter holding areas.  (there are many around this house – it’s terrible!)

New Recipe I Tried Last Week:

Nothing new.

In the craft Basket:

Nothing yet.  I really should find something.

Looking Forward to:

having husband back at home

Parent teacher conferences for both girls.

NBA (basketball game) on Friday.  Lakers Vs San Antonio.  Yes yes I love my Basketball. “Go Lakers!!”

Homemaking Tip for this week:

This comes from the 15 minute organizer by Emile Barnes - Everything has a home and “don’t put it down, put it away”.  I wish I was good at this cause then maybe I wouldn’t have so much unnecessary clutter.

Favorite Blog post of the Week: (mine of other):

A Trip Interior by Joy.  I just came across this blog last week and am enjoying reading about her and her family It is an old post from her but when I read it it just warmed my heart to see her and her family ministering out there to these people.

Favorite photo from last week:

I love the pink and the green

Lessons learned the past few days:

Still meditating on my lesson from last week.  (Posted @ the last Happy Home Maker Monday)

Like any other mom I love my children fiercely and want the best for them. I often come to God with all sorts of requests for them because I want them to be happy. Or is it because in some twisted way I think that  if my children are successful in sports or academically then it will be a good reflection on my parenting.

Lately God has gently reminded me that what I want for my children is not necessarily what God has planned for them. And above all my worth should not be defined in terms of others and that includes my children.

I must love God with all my heart, and I’m learning to continually surrender my children to Him.

On My Prayer List:

My husband – for his work

my children, their schools, their teachers and their friends

My Dad.

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verse:

I’m reading the book of ACTS at the moment.  It’s exciting to imagine the craziness that must have been going on with hundreds and thousands of people repenting daily.  The zeal of the apostles is amazing.  It’s a great read for action and excitement.  From the chapters that I’ve read this one scripture keeps floating around in my head challenging me daily:

Acts 4:13

13When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.

People took note that Peter & John “had been with Jesus”.

I’m left to think this – can people see Jesus in me, are people able to take note and say “there’s something different about her I think she’s been with Jesus.

To join in visit Sandra.

Hoping you all had or have a great Monday.  I am!

Hi Kari,

Just popped over quickly to answer your question ... the salad was definitely not sweet. It would have to be classed on the tangy side but I wouldn't say it was overly so ! It was good. Very refreshing.

Clearing out the clutter holding areas ... I did that just a couple days ago !! It's a big job ... and there are just some areas that seem to gather stuff, eh ? How did you go on getting yours cleared ?

I enjoyed your post. I am a poor mirror of Jesus, I hate to say.
