During my recent pregnancy I found it difficult to eat Thai Cuisine. And living here in Thailand - this was not a good thing! I've always liked Thai food but for some unknown reason - well actually we do why - I was pregnant, I found it repulsive. Not only the taste, but even just the the smell of it would make me want to be sick. Oh the things that happen to us when we are pregnant!!!
Well now that I am no longer with child I love Thai Food again. I also like Japanese and Chinese but to me each Thai dish has it's own distinct taste. Nothing tastes the same!
Anyway one dish that I have really fallen in love with here is Phad Thai. This is a traditional Thai noodle dish. Phad thai consists of rice stick noodles stir-fried with fish sauce (in Thai, nam pla) and egg, and garnished with chopped peanuts. The above is what is typically found in this dish but I can confidently say that having ordered the same dish at different restaurants they are not all alike. Each chef throws in their own ingredients to personalize it I guess.
Phad Thai
It's just a wonderful dish and even more so it is relatively cheap!! Actually food here in Thailand is cheap.
