Here we go again. Friday is upon us and I can’t believe it! Where has the week gone to?
I didn’t expect for it to be as busy as it has been. I’ve found myself making lists and trying to get through everything. But it just didn’t happen. Some things are just going to have to wait till I get back.
Anyway this is Fave Five. If you are stopping by here for the first time and are wondering what this meme is about then click here.
I love going back through the week and recalling the little and big things that made my week. Our lovely host is Susanne of Living To Tell the Story. Drop by her blog, it is a wonderful place to stop by.
So here it is my Fave Five for this week…..
1. Sleep. Oh yes I love sleep. And now that the kids are on holidays I get to sleep in. I don’t do it every morning though because I like to get up and see my husband off to work.
2. Mangoes. This would have to be one my favorite fruits. And right now I can’t seem to get enough of it. The picture below is the fruit man. 1 piece of fruit cost’s 10 baht (around .34 cents) . Yes he will peel the skin and prepare it for you!!
3. Work out Buddy. Since teaming up with my neighbor and exercising I’ve been able to stick with it. No more “I don’t have time,” or “I don’t feel like it today” because my buddy who keeps me accountable. Really if you are finding it hard maybe this is what you need – an exercise buddy.
4. Great Bargains. I got 6 pairs of jeans for my kids yesterday for 600 Baht. That amount converted to USD is around $20.00 . Isn’t that crazy?!? And they were Levi’s too.
I was like No Way…… and my daughters were like Way……!!!! (Is that good English??)
And to think that the day before I almost bought 2 pairs for 3000 baht (USD $102.00) I’m so glad I waited…..
5. These words.
I believe the sun should never set upon an argument
I believe we place our happiness in other people's hands
I believe that junk food tastes so good because it's bad for you
I believe your parents did the best job they knew how to do
I believe that beauty magazines promote low self esteem
I believe I'm loved when I'm completely by myself alone
I believe in Karma what you give is what you get returned
I believe you can't appreciate real love 'til you've been burned
I believe the grass is no more greener on the other side
I believe you don't know what you've got until you say goodbye
They are actually lyrics from a song. The song is called Affirmation by Savage Garden (an Australian Group-but have split up).
Anyway this song makes me smile not only because of the rhythm but also because of the words.
There is some truth to the song. If you’d like a listen then click here.
6. I have to put a 6th one today and it is not about the Lakers although I’m so happy that they won and are now NBA Champs!!!! …..
But we fly out tomorrow for our Summer Holidays. We’re all very excited. (I’m a little anxious though because this will be Joshua first time on an aero plane, so just a tad nervous). I can’t believe that it is finally time.
I hope you all have a great weekend and be safe.

This weeks Corner View is Street Fashion.
This was tricky because I’m hesitant to take pictures of people that I don’t know. But I went through my photos and found some. So here are some random pictures on the streets of Thailand.
Does it look like every second person is wearing yellow? – well they are. In my first year in Thailand the King celebrated his 80th birthday and in honor of that every Monday everyone, well almost everyone wore a yellow shirt to honor their King.
This picture I took at Pattaya. And is actually a common sight. People paying their respect, burning incense. I’m not too sure who the statue is of but I think he was a famous sailor.
If it’s not a person they are paying respect to then it is a Bhudda Statue. Like the one below. These shrines are also a common sight everywhere in the streets.
There are also “bikies” everywhere. This is a mode of transport and a very convenient and efficient one because of the traffic.
And food stalls are everywhere too. Everywhere you turn someone is cooking. It’s like everyone here can cook and make money from it.
Monks are also a common sight on the streets. I know these are only boys but I don’t have pictures of any grown up monks. Apparently they come out early in the mornings and stand with their bowls hoping for generous donations. Donated food and goods are all they live by so they rely and trust on the goodness of people.
These next pictures are from my visit to china town…
And the last one is from downtown Bangkok on a Sunday afternoon. Thai dancers entertaining the people.
So there it is, street fashion from Thailand.

At the end of each school year the girls come home with all their work that they’ve done throughout the year. The work-books, the projects and the art work.
My favorite is always the artwork. I love the creativity and I love to see the moment’s that are captured. So having said that here are a couple of their master pieces that I wanted to share.
Art By Renee:
(this one above with the coconut trees is my favorite)
Art By Tanysha.
Tanysha’s self portrait.
This one is my favorite. She knows she’s an island girl.

Congratulations Los Angeles Lakers.
2009 NBA Champions!!
It’s bitter sweet though – my season is over! What am I going to do?
Just kidding, there is lots too do!
But for today I’m happy for them.

I’m out of bed early to see my hubby of to work and then to watch Game Five of the NBA Finals which will start at 7am here in Thailand and it’s 8pm Sunday night in Orlando, Florida.
(Lets GO LA LAKERS – finish it off).
Anyway my babies are still asleep and I’m going to let them sleep in (for this week anyway) because school is over. YIPPEE. Oh yeah the holidays are here and we are all so happy for that.
I guess the highlight for this holiday will be our upcoming trip. I really want to tell you all where we’re heading to but I can’t. Not just yet anyway. But I promise I’ll let you all know. Maybe an hour before I shut down the computer and head out the front door!! I’ll share.
The other big thing that will happen is our move. We’ve signed the new lease, given notice to our current landlord and are in the process of going through our things….. again. I’m always amazed at the amount of stuff I’ve accumulated with each move. Honestly, why am I still holding onto clothes that I know my mummy body will not fit into anymore?
Anyway I’m getting myself some breakfast and then I’m of to watch the game.
Happy Monday!
