Friday’s Fave Five - #5

It’s that time of the week so here are my high points for the week.

springtime FF5

1.  Finally both my girls will be at the same school next school year.  We got confirmation this week that Tanysha has been accepted and will start kindergarten this August at ISB.  This is such great news because when it comes to planning holidays we’ve always had one on break and the other still at school.  This will not be an issue in the very near future.

2.  Psalm 119.  It’s not always easy to read the Bible, let alone understand it and sometimes it’s just boring. (Oh my gosh I can’t believe I just wrote/confessed this out here in blog land!!  But it’s true and you know what, I can’t even hide that bible &flowerfrom God).  For example the genealogy parts are hard to follow – the “such and such begat this and so on is hard to keep track of sometimes.  So but anyway Psalm 19 – well I’m loving this chapter all over again.  So much in it for me about God’s Word.  And this week I’m thankful for the gentle reminder of the importance of the Bible and how I need it in my life - daily.

3.  Exercising again.  This week I did yoga, went to the gym and fumbled my way around all the fancy equipment but stayed and conquered them.   And then not wanting to be intimidated again I decided to walk around our lake instead.  I really love that feeling I have after some exercising.  I love to  feel strong and confident and to also have that sense of accomplishment.  It does amaze me how exercise affects my mind - positively.  I hope to keep this up.

4.  Positive Response to Chemotherapy.   My father has gone through some heavy doses of chemo this week but I am grateful that his body is responding positively.  He does feel and look tired and beaten and sore from all the IV’s but otherwise he is accepting his treatments.  And for that I am most thankful.  I have read so much about the side effects of chemo so it’s great to see that Dad has not experienced any yet.  Although he’s been hiccupping a lot!

5.  My new i-phone.  I was reluctant to agree with my hubby to get me one but now that I’ve had one for a week, I’m so happy that he didn’t listen to me.  I love my new gadget.  And I love being connected – it’s great.  I’m still learning how to use it efficiently but for now I’m really, really loving it.

Have a great weekend.

I like the Fave Five. I hope you enjoy your iPhone...the only complaint I have is the network. Mine never connects to 3G...sigh. And your daughter is so cute :)

It must be encouraging to your dad and you that he is responding well to the chemo. I hope things continue to go well. There are parts of the Bible that are a bit tedious :0) Love your confession. It's good spiritual exercise though along with your physical exercise. Blessings!

The very best one was hearing your Dad is responding well to treatments. Praying that continues for him!

Your girls are so adorable.

The lake is beautiful. I'd rather walk around that too than be stuck inside on a lovely day like that.

And Psalm 119 is one of my favorite books in the bible. Good job at keeping it up through the harder parts. Keep plugging away at reading, Kari! God will reward you in the end.

Sounds like a good week for you. Good for you on following through on exercising. I love that picture of the lake that you walk around. Seems like gazing on beauty like that would put me in a good mood.!

Willow covers ears and says in one breath, Don't talk about technology mine never works don't buy me a new one unless it's a new camera! Even the copy machine at school hates me!

I'm glad you will have both girls together next school year. It makes so many things easier, transportation, friends, vacations.

I hope your dad continues to respond to the chemo.

Your girls are adorable - and so is your little guy - plus helpful with that broom!

I'm glad your dad is responding well to the chemo - it's never easy.

Your confession is probably shared by quite a few :) It's good to be honest. I find picking one small book and reading it over and over (20 times at least) to be the most helpful way to really get the words deep in my soul. I'm working my way up to the longer books!

Hope you have a great weekend!

This is a great list of 5 things. I'll have to read Psalm 119 again after what you had to say. I'm glad you Dad is responding well and the pictures of the girls are sooo cute!
