I've been awake since 3 this morning so as this day is coming to an end I am on edge......

Why?

Went to church today and the message was on being born again. God is truly a God of order. During the week, the bible study I'm doing posed this question to me, "Why did Jesus Die for me and save me?". After todays message I had to think about this question again.
My small mind cannot understand how and why God does things but I am thankful that He decided (even before I was born, - which totally blows my mind) to save me.
Beth Moore's study (Living Beyond Yourself) showed me this scripture:

Psalm 115:3 - Our God in heaven; he does whatever pleases him.

God saved me simply because it pleased Him. It's taking me a while to wrap my head around this truth. That God chose to save me simply because it pleased him.

Whoa thank you Jesus for my salvation!!

Thinking of Home

My sister called this morning but was still in bed so my hubby talked to her.
I miss home. I know I only just got back a couple of weeks ago but home will always be home.
All is well at home. I know my sisters are busy getting their children ready to return to school. My nieces and nephews are excited to return to school.
It's been a busy day today just getting stuff done for my girls, but it's also been a good day.
I'm feeling tired. Have to remind myself to put my feet up.

Thinking of Home

Weekend's Here!

Thank goodness the weekend is finally here.
Tanysha has a party tomorrow and Renee will be having a friend over. Should be busy! It's been an exciting week for me - especially finding out what I will be having. It brought me renewed joy and a change in my attitude to really enjoy this pregnancy, day by day - moment by moment. I am half way through so the next 20 weeks should be great!

I bought a remote control helicopter for my dear hubby this afternoon. We went to the toy store to buy a gift for Tanysha for the B’day party and my hubby came across this remote controlled chopper and he asked me to buy it for him. I’m giving him a hard time about it – I guess they never really grow out of their toys!!

Great weekend everyone.

Exciting News!!


After waiting for what seemd like forever I finally had my ultrasound today and it's confirmed - I'm having a baby boy!!! I am so excited!! Not only is it a boy but all is well and he is one healthy and normal babe.

God is truly gracious. In the early weeks of my pregnancy during the many long days of being nauseated I kept on thinking to myself "will I enjoy this pregnancy?" After today's news there is renewed joy and gratefulness in my heart.

In all my pregnancies (this is my third) there has always been this fear of the unknown. All I know is that there is this being growing inside of me. I always have this fear of "will the baby be okay?" or "will there be something wrong?"

Dear Father in Heaven you truly know everything and are truly gracious.
My dear hubby is excited, but my girls aren't because they were hoping for a girl. But I know they'll come around and love their baby brother all the same.

Superb Tuesday !

Tanysha was great this morning. No fuss and more importantly no tears at school. Last night I was stressed out about her not liking school and not wanting to be there. It's a terrible feeling. But thankfully today was totally different. It may have to do with a target that was set for her. I know they're young, but each child in her class is set a target and everyday they are reminded about it and encouraged to achieve their target. My daughter is driven so that may be why she was dead set on going to school with no tears.

Okay, Okay - I have a confession to make. I love my sports. I love basketball and lately I'm hooked onto the NFL. I didn't use to understand the game but now that I do I enjoy it. I live in Thailand so TV coverage of the games is not that often. We have soccer in abundance and I hate soccer! So anyway surf the internet daily. I am constantly on ESPN.com , SI.com and wherever else I can get my fix when it comes to sport. It really does slow my days down but I just have to see what's happening. I'm the kind og gal who would so prefer to watch the Lakers (yes I am a Laker fan) play ball than go to the mall. And Thailand is a great place for shopping!!

Well the Lakers won today and I'll be rooting for the Patriots when the Super Bowl comes around. It would be great if they go 19-0 to set history. Don't think that sort of a record will come around again for a long time coming.

Go the Lakers!! Go the Patriots!!

Influence !!


What do you do when your 3 year old tells you that she doesn't want to go to school anymore? Well that's what happened this morning. Tanysha decided that she didn't want to go to school anymore. I don't know what's happening. She loves school so I'm not too sure what's happening at the moment. I really hope she gets over this soon. (photo of Tanysha - happier days at school)

Renee on the other hand loves school and all that comes with it. I hope that will be the attitude for a long time to come.


In 2 days I have my doctor's appointment for an ultrasound. Yes I am expecting another baby and I'll be finding out then whether it is a boy or girl. I'm anxious, but really in the end I just hope for a healthy baby.


Today I started my personal bible study - I'm doing Beth Moore's Living Beyond Yourself. Exploring the Fruit of the Spirit. After my lesson today "living a quiet and gentle spirit" has taken on a whole new meaning. I never realized how much influence I have as a women. I read this scripture today - "But the Jews incited the God-fearing women of high standing and the leading men in the city. They stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas & expelled them from their region." Acts 13:50. You see the women were incited first and they had a big part in having Paul and Barnabas expelled from the region. Did they know that the women would have so much influence in having these men expelled.
For reasons we may never know, as Beth Moore writes in her study - God has entrusted to woman a most wonderful and terrible gift: the power of influence. How I use this gift of influence can either teach, nuture and encourage or at it's worst, cripple and kill.

After reading this it's no wonder God exhorts us to be of "gentle and quiet spirits". Not because we are lowly but because we posses such an awesome gift. Oh dear Father help me to use my influence in a positive way.

Decorating ................

I love my girls! They do drive me crazy some days but on other days I just want them close to me. This weekend I finally came around to setting up their play/relax room. It's been 5 months since we moved into our new home and this weekend I set my mind to it to set up this room for them. It it not completely done yet but at least I've made a start. Now I have 5 more rooms to go!! I should be excited about decorating but I'm not very good when it comes to interior decorating. I am severely challenged.

Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

This week has been good for me in terms of getting out and exercising. I set a goal for myself and was able to accomplish it. A physical, measurable goal and I achieved it. Then I went and rewarded myself with a tall caramel frappacino!!! How does that work?
This week as I've walked the song on my ipod has been "Fearfully and Wonderfully Made" by Matt Redman. As I've listened and walked and taken in my surroundings it's hard to see God's beauty and then say there is no God. Not only are my walks good for me physically but at the same time it gives me wonderful moments to appreciate God's creation, his greatness and His beauty.

Have a great weekend all and take time to soak in God's goodness and greatness.

Thank God for Do-Overs!

As I mentioned yesterday, I can't believe we are half way through January. 17 days have come and gone and I'm still trying to figure out what I want to accomplish this new year. I appreciate this time of the year as it presents a great opportunity to start over - and boy do I need to start over. My intentions are always good and every year I start off so well and then as the year goes on I end up just living my life day to day and I find myself just trying to stay afloat and I hate that.
The other day I read a great devotion and oh how God is just so good at knowing what our needs are. You see every year I aim to try to change and make myself a better person. I realise that God doesn't change but He understands my need to change, my desire to live a purposeful life.
I am truly thankful for His Grace and Mercies which are new every morning. And thank goodness they are new every morning!!
Well after reading my devotion and now 17 days into 2008 and I have decided to make S.M.A.R.T. goals. Every goal I will set for me will be - S=specific, M=measurable, A=Attainable, R=realistic and T=timely.
I hope you are all doing well with your New Years Resolutions!!!

Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) states: "Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."

Half Way Through January!

Can't believe we are half way through the month of January. Gee time flies. It only seems like yesterday we were bringing in the new year and and now we are well and truly moving through the days not skipping a beat.
Our children are back in school, and our routines are underway.... (well I hope so!)
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. I went back home to Papua New Guinea and honestly home will always be home. It was wonderful to spend Christmas and New Year with family. It truly was wonderful to sit and appreciate my family.
We are now back in Thailand and everything is back to normal. The Baure household is well and truly back into routines. My girls are back at school and I think they are happy about that. They're happy to see their friends and to get back into their structured days.

Anyway this is my first post for the year and I hope to commit to posting regularly. Till next time.....
